We are a caring Christian Community built on Compassion, Trust, Friendship and Hope

Developing Thinkers.

We are a community of learners.  As learners we help each other by listening and asking questions.  We make mistakes.  We discuss things and solve on-going problems together.  We respect each other and do not waste time on fault finding and blaming. We spend time becoming emotionally and interpersonally competent.

As a learning community we give regular and careful thought to everything that takes place.  Children, staff, parents and governors learn how to think reflectively, critically and creatively.  We employ these skills and techniques within the development of a meaningful, engaging curriculum.  As a result, our learners demonstrate, across a wide range of abilities, independent and co-operative learning skills, good levels of achievement and enjoyment and engagement in learning.

All members of the SPCEDS learning community are fully commited to our ethos and aims.  Staff are specially trained and methods have been introduced into the curriculum for teaching the skills of thinking and associated cognitive and meta-cognitive strategies.  The application of these skills and strategies supports elements of our curriculum and guides policies and expectations.  As a community we seek to find new ways to learn, teach and provide opportunities for our learners that complement those already being used.
